Abstract:

The article aims to highlight the role of Islamic elites in the democratic transition process that Tunisia experienced in 2010, within the context of what is known as the Arab Spring revolutions. This period was marked by a series of political and social transformations that contributed to reshaping the Tunisian political landscape. Amid this transformation, political parties and elites, with their diverse ideologies and intellectual references, emerged as key players in reshaping the political reality. In this context, the Ennahda Movement played a central role in shaping and structuring Tunisia’s transitional phase by influencing the formulation of major policies. As a result, it laid the foundations for political stability in the post-revolutionary period. The Ennahda Movement was able to maintain a large popular base, and its decision to withdraw from the coalition government contributed to the continuity of the Tunisian democratic experience, in contrast to other countries that failed in their democratic transition process.
