Abstract:

The weakness of poetry at the
beginning of Islam, is considered one of the most significant issues over the
whole history of literature .There has been two opinions
that dominated the whole debate about this issue; the first is  al-asmai’s opinion, which said that  poetry is empowered in times of wars and conflicts
(evil), but becomes weak in times of peace (good), and the opinion of Ibn
Khaldun, which said that Arabs gave less attention to poetry in the beginning
of Islam, because they were busy in religion, prophecy and revelation. The
research concludes that the artistic level of poetry has been weakened at the
beginning of Islam because of three main factors : First,
the issue of the language of poetry, which refers to the fact the  linguistic power of the poets hadn’t been
able to adapt to the new themes brought by Islam. Second, the issue of  reality and the imaginary, which  refers to the fact that Islam has forbidden
lying while writing poetry, which led consequently to limit the imagination of poets
within what they can really do, rather what they can creatively  imagine. Third, the new way of life that was
created by Islam, since the new life required speaking about new issues, which
were not known by the poets before

İslam’ın ilk yıllarında şiirdeki seviye kaybı, Arap eleştirmenlerin
her dönemde ele aldığı bir konudur. Bu durumla alakalı iki görüş vardır:
Bunlardan ilki: Arap Şiiri, İslam’ın ilk yıllarında seviyesini korumuştur.
İkinci görüş ise, şiirin seviye kaybetmediği yönündedir. Bu görüşlerden her
birinin meseleyi temellendirdikleri delilleri vardır.Bu araştırmamızdaki
tespitimiz: Arap şiiri İslam’ın ilk yıllarında üç sebepten dolayı
zayıflamıştır. Birincisi şiirin dilidir. Şiir dilinden kasıt şairlerin
dillerinin cahiliye dönemine ait bir dil olmasıdır. Ancak bu dil İslami
konuları kapsayacak seviyede değildir. İkinci neden, İslam’ın şiirde yalan
söylemeyi haram kılmasıdır. Bu nedenle Müslüman şairler cahiliyedeki gibi
şiirlerinde yalan ihtiva eden bir dil kullanmamışlardır. Üçüncü sebep ise:
İslam’la birlikte yeni konular gelmiştir. Şairler kendilerine yabancı bu yeni
konular hakkında kolay bir şekilde şiir yazamamışlardır. Çünkü onlar cahili
şiirin  konularına aşina idiler.
