 The objective of the research is to develop the school strategic planning practices in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the Allison and Kaye model. The descriptive approach was used. The research group consisted of 299 teachers in the basic education schools. The research tool was the benchmark of the strategic planning process and it was applied. The results showed that the level of the strategic planning process as a whole and each sub-practice level are in the medium term, so it needs improvement and development from the point of view of the teachers. A statistically significant difference at the level of 0.01 indicates the gender variable on the dimensions of the strategic planning in favor of the teachers and the absence of a statistically significant difference due to the variable of experience and the school level on the dimensions of the strategic planning. The research recommended holding specialized training courses for the school principals and teachers in the field of the strategic planning, preparation of the strategic school plans  raising  the awareness of the educational officials at the level of the senior and executive leadership at the school level, the importance of the strategic planning school and its relationship to the comprehensive central strategic planning, as well as the need for teachers to participate in the preparation and development of the strategic plans for the school and to provide their financial, human, organizational and technical resources.This abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018

                  هدف البحث تطوير ممارسات التخطيط الاستراتيجي المدرسي في سلطنة عمان في ضوء نموذج Allison وKaye. واستخدم المنهج الوصفي. وتكونت مجموعة البحث من 299 معلم بمدارس التعليم الأساسي. وتمثلت لأدوات البحث في مقياس ممارسات عملية التخطيط الاستراتيجي. وطبقت أداة البحث. وتوصلت النتائج الى أن مستوى عملية التخطيط الاستراتيجي ككل وكل مستوى ممارسة فرعية تقع في المدى المتوسط أي تحتاج الى تحسين وتطوير من وجهة نظر المعلمين. ووجود فرق دال احصائيا عند مستوى دلالة 0.01 ترجع لمتغير النوع على أبعاد التخطيط الاستراتيجي لصالح المعلمات. وعدم وجود فرق دال احصائيا يرجع لمتغير الخبرة ومستوى المدرسة على أبعاد التخطيط الاستراتيجي. وأوصى البحث بعقد دورات تدريبية متخصصة لمديري المدارس والمعلمين في مجال التخطيط الاستراتيجي واعداد الخطط الاستراتيجية المدرسية. ونشر الوعي المسؤولين التربويين على مستوى القيادة العليا والتنفيذية على مستوى المدرسة بأهمية التخطيط الاستراتيجي المدرسي وعلاقته بالتخطيط الاستراتيجي المركزي الشامل. وضرورة مشاركة المعلمين في اعداد وتطوير الخطط الاستراتيجية للمدرسة. وتوفير متطلباتها من موارد مالية وبشرية وتنظيمية وتقنية. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018.
