Abstract:

In this study, we have tried to shed light on the Mauri revolutions in Mauritania Tangitana during the early period of the Roman occupation (40 -285 A.D), and their role in the Roman withdrawal from the southern part of Mauritania Tangitana. The talk focused on the revolutions of the second century A.D, During this period, the region witness revolutions carried out by various Mauri tribes, who rejected all forms of Roman occupation. although the region knew the stability of several military units of wings and battalions, which stood helpless in the face of these successive revolutions. The irony is that most of these revolutions spread to distant areas, which made Rome abandon the area south of the Loukkos River, and keep the northern part of the region.
