Abstract:

Hurufism emerged in Iran at the end of the 14th century; However, it spread to India, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Anatolia due to the pressure of the Timurids. The Hurufism taught in Anatolia by Aliyyü'l-A’lâ and Nesîmî, who are the caliphs of Fazlullah Esterâbâdî, the founder of Hurufism, started to merge with Bektashism in a short time. When the reactions against the Hurufism in the Ottoman geography gained a political dimension, the Hurufism spread to the Balkans. The increasing pressures pushed the Hurufis to live under the guise of Bektashism.Arshi, one of the 16.-17. century poets, is one of the Hurufi who lived under the guise of Bektashism. Arşî, who was probably born in Tire and attached to Muhîtî in a Bektâşî lodge in the town of Argyrokastro in Albania, he was sheikh after his sheikh Muhiti died. Arşî, who was also a poet like Muhîtî, wrote poems expressing his Hurufi beliefs. Although not as much as Hurufism, Bektashi effects are also seen in these poems.Hz. Ali is a very important personality in both Hurufism and Bektashism. The essence of Hurufism is the science of tevil. According to Hurûfî-Bektâşî Derviş Murtazâ, who translated the Câvidânnâme into Turkish, which belongs to Fazlullah Esterâbâdî, the founder of this belief, which is considered sacred by the Hurufîs, this science is essentially Ali's knowledge. Therefore, on the basis of Hurufism, Hz. Ali has knowledge. According to Bektashism, The love of Ali and Ahl al-Bayt is one of the main elements of this order. This article, in the context of Hurufism and Bektashi relations, in the Arshi’s Divan, It aims to reveal the perception of Ali. For this, the relevant couplets in the Arshî’s Divan were determined, those related to Hurufism and Bektashism were separated according to their subjects and then annotated. Finally, based on the findings reached, in the poems of Hurufî-Bektashi poet Arshi, Hz. The perception of Ali has been tried to be revealed.
