Abstract:

The stones discovered by the Russian archaeologist Yadrintsev in 1889, which were not known at that time, were found to be inscriptions erected in the name of Kül Tegin and Bilge Kagan. These inscriptions provide us with many sources in terms of Turkish culture and language. Due to the inability of the writing system to distinguish vowel sounds, and because some characters are not written in context, different views of reading and interpretation have emerged in some phrases and words. One of these various views is the phrase öd teŋri RSY kişi oglı kop ölgeli törümiş on the 10th line of the northern surface of the Kül Tėgin inscription. Since these reading differences and interpretations of RSY are suitable for reading in the forms of yasar yaşar aysar, researchers can interpret yasar to edit; yaşar to live; aysar to command, to say. The phrase Öd Tėŋri is another point that is overlooked here. There is no consensus in the scientific community on the meaning of this word. By stating the opinions and explanations of the previous authors, the reading and interpretation of the phrase öd terŋri RSY kişi oglı kop ölgeli törümiş in the north 10th line was re-evaluated in terms of morphological, syntactic, and semantic aspects.
