 هدفت الدراسة الكشف عن أثر أسلوب التعلم التنافسي في تحسين مهارات القراءة الناقدة لدى طلبة الصف السابع الأساسي في الأردن. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام اختبار القراءة الناقدة، المكون من (5) مهارات. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (96) طالباً وطالبة من طلبة الصف السابع الأساسي، تم اختيارهم بالطريقة المتيسرة، تم توزيعهم إلى مجموعتين، تجريبية مكونة من (46) طالباً وطالبة، تم تدريسهم نصوص القراءة باستخدام أسلوب التعلم التنافسي، وضابطة مكونة من (50) طالباً وطلبة، تم تدريسهم نصوص القراءة ذاتها بالطريقة الاعتيادية. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تحسين مهارات القراءة الناقدة، لصالح المجموعة التجريبية، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تحسين مهارات القراءة الناقدة، تعزى لمتغير الجنس، وأثر التفاعل بين متغيري الدراسة (أسلوب التعلم والجنس). وفي ضوء هذه النتائج أوصى الباحثان بإجراء دراسات مشابهة للدراسة الحالية، في تأثير التعلم التنافسي على مهارات لغوي أخرى كالاستماع، والتحدث، والكتابة.
                  The study aimed at revealing the impact of competitive learning style in improving the critical reading skills among seventh grade students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used a critical reading test that consisted of (5) skills. The study sample consisted of (96) males and females from the seventh grade students, who were chosen with available method, and were distributed into two groups, the experimental consisted of (46) males and females students who were taught reading texts by using competitive learning style, and the control consisted of (50) males and females students, who were taught the same reading texts by using the usual method. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in improving the critical reading skills, in favor of the experimental group, and there were no statistically significant differences in improving the critical reading skills due to the gender variable and the impact of the interaction between the variables of the study (learning style and gender). In light of these findings, the researchers recommended to conduct similar studies for the current study in impact of competitive learning on other language skills such as listening, speaking, and writing.
