Abstract:

 


The counting systems consisting of electronics devices are used for detection of radiation due to X and Gamma rays. Main reason for the dead time in counting system is these electronic devices. As a result of this dead time, the counting losses occur.  The counting loss also means the loss of the counting rate. Determination of the counting rate losses in quantitative and qualitative analysis become a vital step for correction analysis. Therefore, the counting rate correction required for counting system is of great importance. These counting losses in spectrometry are due to the pulse pile-up, paralyzable and non-paralyzable system dead time or dual and triple combination of these three mechanisms. Paralyzable and non-paralyzable models are well-known and frequently used for correction of counting rate losses dependent on the system dead time. However, these two models do not provide enough correction at medium and high counting rates. Therefore, new models for corrections of counting rate losses are needed.

Elektronik aygıtlardan müteşekkil olan sayma sistemleri X ve Gama ışınlarından ileri gelen radyasyonun belirlenmesinde kullanılır. Sayma sisteminde ölü zamanının ana nedeni sayma sistemini oluşturan bu elektronik aygıtlardır. Bu ölü zamanın sonucu olarak ta sayma kayıpları yaşanır. Sayma kaybı aynı zamanda sayma oranı kaybı anlamına da gelmektedir. Nicelik (kantitatif) ve nitelik (kalitatif) analizlerinde sayma kaybı oranının tahmini analizin doğruluğu için hayati bir meseledir. Bu nedenle sayma sistemleri için istenilen sayma oranı düzeltmesi büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Spektrometrelerdeki bu sayma kayıpları yığılma pulsları, uzatılan ve uzatılmayan sistem ölü zamanlarından veya bu üç mekanizmanın ikili ve üçlü bileşimlerinden meydana gelir. Sistem ölü zamanına bağlı sayma oranı kayıplarının düzeltilmesi için uzatılan ve uzatılmayan modeller iyi bilinir ve sıklıkla kullanılır. Bununla birlikte bu iki model orta ve yüksek sayma oranlarında istenilen düzeltmeyi sağlayamamaktadırlar. Bu yüzden sayma oranı kayıplarını telafi etmek için yeni modellere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.
