 The increase in the number of individuals with limited mobility imposes a task on the management of pressure ulcers on family physicians, who are responsible for providing continuous and comprehensive health care services to their patients. In this study, it was aimed to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of family physicians in Trabzon about PU. In this cross-sectional study carried out between June-July 2022, a form questioning their sociodemographic characteristics and knowledge level, attitudes and behaviors about PU was applied to 156 family physicians working in family health centers across the province of Trabzon by face-to-face interview method. The Modified Pieper Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Test MPPUKT was used to measure the PU knowledge level of physicians. In our study, the median knowledge level of family physicians according to MPPUKT was found to be sufficient 75.5. While 37 physicians stated that they received training on PU, 34 stated that they considered themselves competent in the staging of PU and 30 in their treatment. 91 of the participants stated that they encountered PU rarely, 60 sometimes, and 5 frequently. While no correlation was found between physicians age, gender, and the time spent in family medicine and knowledge level p0.05, there was a positive correlation between the time spent in the profession knowledge level p0.048, r0.159. The median number of correct answers was higher in general practitioners and those who stated that they did not receive any training on PU respectively; p0.002, p0.001. Although it has been observed that the knowledge level of family physicians about PU is sufficient, it has been observed that training programs should be planned and especially the prevention of PU should be emphasized in order to improve their knowledge level.

 Hareketi kısıtlı bireylerin sayısının artması hastalarına sürekli ve kapsamlı sağlık hizmeti sunmakla görevli olan aile hekimlerine, basınç yarasının yönetimi konusunda görev yüklemektedir. Bu çalışmada Trabzon ilindeki aile hekimlerinin basınç yarası hakkında bilgi düzeyleri, tutum ve davranışlarının saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Haziran-Temmuz 2022 tarihleri arasında yürütülen bu kesitsel araştırmada Trabzon il genelinde aile sağlığı merkezlerinde görevli 156 aile hekimine, sosyodemografik özelliklerini ve basınç yarası hakkında bilgi düzeyi, tutum ve davranışlarını sorgulayan anket formu yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle uygulanmıştır. Hekimlerin basınç yarası bilgi düzeylerini ölçmek için Modifiye Pieper Basınç Yarası Bilgi Testi MPBYBT kullanılmıştır. Çalışmamızda aile hekimlerinin MPBYBTye göre bilgi düzeyi ortancaları yeterli seviyede 75,5 bulunmuştur. Hekimlerin 37si basınç yarası hakkında eğitim aldıklarını belirtirken, 34ü basınç yarasının evrelemesi konusunda, 30u da tedavisi konusunda kendilerini yetkin gördüğünü ifade etti. Katılımcıların 91i nadiren, 60ı bazen, 5i ise sık sık yatak yarası ile karşılaştıklarını belirtti. Hekimlerin yaş, cinsiyet ve aile hekimliğinde geçen süreleri ile doğru sayısı arasında herhangi bir ilişki saptanmamışken p0,05, meslekte geçirilen süre ile doğru sayısı arasında pozitif bir korelasyon mevcuttu p0,048, r0,159. Pratisyen hekimlerde ve yatak yarası hakkında eğitim almadığını ifade edenlerde doğru sayısı ortancası daha yüksekti sırasıyla; p0,002, p0,001. Aile hekimlerinin basınç yarası hakkında bilgi düzeylerinin yeterli düzeyde olduğu gözlemlense de bilgi düzeylerinin iyi seviyeye gelmesi için eğitim programlarının planlanması ve özellikle basınç yarasının önlenmesi konusuna ağırlık verilmesi gerektiği görülmüştür.
