Abstract:

Investments in human capital stock are the leading factors that increase economic growth. One of these investments is health expenditures. An increase in health expenditures in a country will contribute positively to the conscious society to benefit from health services more efficiently with the effect of education, and therefore to the development of that society and to increase the level of welfare. In the study, the long-term relationship between the variables of economic growth and health expenditures for the 2000-2018 periods in Turkey is examined with the Auto Regressive Distributed Lag ARDL. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that there is a positive and significant long-term relationship between economic growth and health expenditures.
