Abstract:

 

Purpose: FATİH project is carried out by the Ministry of National Education throughout the country. The educational acceptance level of the tablet computers distributed to the students during the project process and their integration into the educational environment has been a matter of curiosity. In this study, the validity and reliability analyzes of an attitude scale were conducted by collecting data to determine the attitudes of high school students towards educational use of tablet PCs.Design & Methodology: This research is a scale development study aiming to determine the attitudes of high school students about the educational use of tablet computers. For the research, a total of 256 students were analyzed with the data set. As a result of the analyzes, a 5-point likert-type scale was created with 11 items. For the validity and reliability of the scale, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was performed. Findings: In the first analysis for the scale, KMO-Barlett value was 0.90. This situation showed that the scale supports sample size and is suitable for exploratory factor analysis. In order to determine the construct validity of the scale, exploratory factor analysis was performed. The main component analysis of exploratory factor analysis was applied with varimax vertical rotation technique. The result is that the scale has a 2-factor structure (7 items in total) and the total variance explained by both factors is 74.994%. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed in order to test the model data compatibility of the two-factor structure obtained from the exploratory factor analysis. The chi-square value for the two-factor structure was investigated and the value of X2 = 28.26 (df = 12; p <.05) was obtained. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the fit index values were found to be excellent or acceptable.Implications & Suggestions: The aim of this study was to develop an attitude scale for educational use of tablet computers. Data were collected with a scale of 11 items. Firstly, exploratory factor analysis and then confirmatory factor analysis were performed. As a result of the analysis, a two-factor 7-item scale emerged.

 

Amaç: Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından ülke kapsamında FATİH projesi yürütülmektedir. Proje sürecinde öğrencilere dağıtılan tablet bilgisayarların eğitsel kabul düzeyi ve eğitim ortamına entegrasyonu merak konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışmada lise öğrencilerinin tablet bilgisayarların eğitsel kullanımına yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla veriler toplanarak bir tutum ölçeğinin geçerlik ve güvenilirlik analizleri yapılmıştır.Yöntem: 11 maddelik pilot ölçek formu ile 3 farklı lisede toplam 256 öğrenciden veriler toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler üzerinde ilk olarak gerekli normallik varsayımları test edilmiş ve normal dağıldığı görüldükten sonra yapı geçerliliği kapsamında açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Güvenilirlik çalışmaları kapsamında madde toplam korelasyonları ve Cronbach alfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları incelenmiştir.Bulgular: Ölçekte varimax döndürme tekniği uygulanmış 4 madde ölçekten çıkarılmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizinde özdeğeri 1’in üzerinde 2 faktör ortaya çıkmıştır. Toplam 7 maddeden ve 2 faktörden oluşan ölçeğin, açıkladığı toplam varyansın %74.994 çıktığı görülmüştür. Ölçek için yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ise uyum indis değerlerinin mükemmel ve kabul edilebilir olduğu ve 7 faktörlü modelin doğrulandığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Ölçekte birinci faktörün Cronbach alfa iç tutarlılık katsayısı .885, ikinci faktörünün Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlılık katsayısı ise .835’dir. Ölçeğin maddelerinin düzeltilmiş madde-toplam korelasyonlarının .808 ile .642 arasında değiştiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Sonuçlar ve Öneriler: Analizler sonucunda geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir. Beşli likert tipi bir yapıya sahip olan ölçekten alınabilecek en düşük puan 7, en yüksek puan ise 35’tir. Ölçekten alınan puan yükseldikçe tablet bilgisayarların eğitsel kullanımına yönelik sahip olunan tutum olumlu yönde artmaktadır. Ölçeğe ilişkin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları farklı örneklem gruplarında ve diğer eğitim kademelerinde tekrarlanabilir.
