Abstract:

 


In this article, it is aimed to determine the level of differences on practices of music education between public schools and private schools. Teachers’ opinions were taken regarding the differences on practices in music lessons, the adequacy of the activities, and the advantages and disadvantages of these practices in public and private schools. Case study and semi-structured interview technique, which are among qualitative research methods, were used in the research. The study group of the research consisted of 10 music teachers determined by an easily accessible sampling method. An interview form consisting of 7 open-ended questions and a demographic information form with 4 questions were applied to the study group. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the data obtained from the interviews. As a result of this study, it was determined that the course load of music teachers working in public schools is low while teachers working in private schools worked under stress with a high course load and workload, and they are given music lesson in every grade from kindergarten to high school. It was determined that the teachers working in private schools also expressed that the physical and financial conditions of their schools were sufficient, on the other hand, the teachers working in public schools expressed that the physical and financial conditions of their schools were not sufficient.

Bu araştırmada devlet okulu ve özel okullarda müzik. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem yöntemiyle belirlenmiş 10 müzik öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubuna açık uçlu 7 sorudan oluşan görüşme formu ve 4 soruluk demografik bilgi formu uygulanmıştır. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analiz tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda devlet okullarında görev yapan müzik öğretmenlerinin ders yüklerinin az olduğu; özel okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin ise yoğun bir ders yükü ve iş yükü ile stres altında çalıştıkları, anaokulundan liseye kadar tüm kademelerde müzik derslerini gerçekleştirdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca özel okul öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları kurumların fiziki ve maddi koşullarının yeterli olduğu yönünde; devlet okullarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin ise çalıştıkları kurumların fiziki ve maddi koşullarının yeterli olmadığı yönünde görüş bildirdikleri belirlenmiştir.
