Abstract:

The Sunnah transmitted from Prophet Muhammad s.a.s. plays an important role in determining religious rulings. However, the fact that the Sunnah is generally considered speculative in both its transmission and interpretative evidence has led to deep disagreements among schools of thought. This has necessitated the categorization of Sunnah in terms of its transmission and evidence. According to the majority of scholars, the Sunnah is divided into two types: mutawatir and khabar al-wahid. The Hanais also include Sunnah mashhurah as a third category. Among these categories, mutawatir Sunnah is deinitively attributed to the Prophet, with no doubt regarding its transmission. In principle, scholars unanimously agree on this point. The mutawatir Sunnah has also been categorized further based on perspective. The most common classiication distinguishes between lafzı mutawatir mutawatir in wording and manawı mutawatir mutawatir in meaning. Over the historical development of iqh, this distinction has evolved, resulting in differing scholarly approaches toward lafzı and manawı mutawatir. This study, therefore, examines the evolution of the concept of mutawatir and the differing approaches that have arisen as a result.

Dini hukumlerin tespitinde Hz. Peygamberden s.a.s. rivayet edilen sunnet verileri onemli bir yere sahiptir.
