Abstract:

Abstract:
There is no doubt that the Arab, African, and Mediterranean public opinion has widely differed on the matter of Francophony:
One narrative thinks of it as an area of cultural and economic dialogue and cooperation between the countries in which French is the first or the second official language. The other perception is to consider it as a tool of an ex-colonial power to keep its hegemony on these countries without referring to the old colonial ways.
The fact that the author is more sided with the second narrative didn’t make him lose the scientific objectivity that made him go for a third option: Staying away from Francophobia, and keeping his distance from Francophony, at the same time.
