The Algerian Red Crescent, since its inception following the resolutions of the sessions of the Soummam conference held on 20 August 1956, participated in giving its real support to the Algerian revolutionary process two years after its emergence by enriching and evaluating the idea and project of humanitarian work accompanying side by side the armed, liberal and revolutionary work against the colonial oppression and by spreading the cells and intentions of social and humanitarian work as part of the revolutionary personnel aiming at the vaccination against every breakthrough of the potential colonial intelligence which could be a burden on the liberal revolution at the important stage of its journey.
This humanitarian and social attention aimed primarily at providing the social, medical and humanitarian care to the Algerians affected by the French colonial policy imposed on the Algerian revolution to put an end to its effectiveness and victories achieved in the field at the expense of the European military arsenal.
Therefore, the Algerian Red Crescent has made great efforts in the humanitarian and social fields by proving health care, shelters, aids and assistance to the refugees and all the other needy persons, by giving education to the children of refugees, by informing the world of the Algerian cause, by gaining international moral and material support and working on the propaganda of Algerian revolution demanding justice for the cause for the freedom of the world and for humanity.
