Abstract:

This study was aimed at the recognition of the relationship between the psychological balance and the change in values of a sample of some random students in King Abdul-Aziz Univ. ; The sample community was all female students in both humanities and science majors in King Abdul-Aziz Univ. , who were about 2300 students. The participants were about 170 girls which comes to a percentage of 7.5% of all the enrollment, applying the descriptive approach in the study The results of the study showed that a relation between Psychological adjustment and Ethics doesn't exist since it was not correct statistically. Therefore, dismissing the assumption of such positive relation between them. Also, the study showed a score of (R = 0.284) for the relation between Psychological adjustment and Religious values, that also carries a statistic reference on morality level of 0.01, resulting in the acceptance of the assumption of a positive relation between religious values and psychological adjustment; which means the existence of religious values helps asserting the psychological adjustment and strengthens it We also found that there is no relation between one's psychological adjustment and his political views. Thus, we dismiss the assumption that states such positive relation. Since there's no statistical reference. The study also resulted in the non-existence of positive relation between the psychological adjustment and theoretical values, since no statistical reference was reached. However, we approve that there is a positive relation between psychological adjustment and social values with a score of (R = 0.198), that also carries a statistic reference on morality level of 0.01 , resulting in the acceptance of the assumption. So , we've come to a conclusion of the importance of the social values in approaching the psychological adjustment. Positive values' changes affects the psychological adjustment positively , and the negative change affects it negatively. Finally, the study pointed out some recommendations stressing on the importance of increasing teachers' and parents' awareness of the values, and its effects on student's personality and his psychological adjustment. It also stressed on the importance of the compatibility between family’s and society's values to prevent conflicts that may alter the student negatively; urging families and society organizations to pass those values on to younger generations.
