Abstract:

Given its novelty in the cultural and literary sphere, and its unusual character in relation to so-called classical literature, which already has its own critical apparatus and the bodies that give it legitimacy and institutional acceptance, digital literature and its pioneers are constantly questioning its foundations, its media, its language. In other words, all the elements that underpin its literary identity and its acceptance and legitimization by the institutions to which literary authority belongs. What, then, are the elements or criteria on which the literariness of a digital literary work is based? Given that digital literature has several semiotic systems at its disposal, such as image, sound, animation, hypertext links and others, which cohabit together to create a certain aesthetic effect, it is no longer a question of linguistic support as is the case with classical literature. In addition to the question of literariness, there is also the question of legitimization for digital literature, i.e., which literary bodies are responsible for evaluating, sorting, disseminating and preserving L.N. works in the global and Francophone cultural field? This article attempts to answer these questions.
