Abstract:

This research aims to highlight the roots of the theory of semantic fields in the Arab linguistic heritage in general, and the lexicon dedicated to Ibn Sayyidah Al-Andalusi in particular, which is one of the dictionaries of meanings, and linking it to what Westerners have reached in this field, so that we can reformulate the founding efforts of the theory of semantic fields among the Arabs. Therefore, this research will focus on two important aspects: The first aspect is to mention the foundations of the theory of semantic fields and link it to the Arabic linguistic heritage. The second aspect will focus on its aspects in the dictionary dedicated to Ibn Sidah.
