Abstract:

Poets; they used the method of the citation with hadīth in their poems for reasons such as taking the word from its source and reinforcing the meaning, using the expressive power of the language effectively, directing people to good, and making words beautify. Although the poem is a literary work written with the aim of uttering rhyming words, the message it contains must be correct. While the literati reveal the artistic side of the poems, the scholars have tried to reveal the status of the hadīths inscribed into couplets according to the Hadīth method criteria. Pre-Islamic period, poetry was seen as an inseparable part of life, and the Qur'an was sent down to a society where poetry, eloquence and literature were strong. The prophet Muḥammad was used by telling the poems of the companions, and inspiring praise with his words. However, the question of how much his words were reflected in poetry both in the period of the prophet Muḥammad and in the following centuries is an important issue that seeks an answer. In the research, based on the narration period in the history of hadīth, examples of hadīth and quotations in Arabic poetry during the period of the companions and after the companions were given, and an answer to the related question was sought through these examples. In the research, hadīth and the art of the citation with hadīth in the Arabic poetry were dealt with in different aspects, and the arts of telmih and tenasub, which are related to the citation, were included. Based on the period of narration in the history of hadīth, the examples of the citation with hadīth in the Arabic poetry of the companions and after the companions are mentioned. Since poetry is not a known and applied method among the hadīth transmission methods, the subject of poetry and hadīth transmission is not mentioned. It is assumed that the research will contribute to the studies in the field of hadīth and language on the citation with hadīth. In the study, it is aimed to make a comparative analysis on the selected sample poems in line with the data of Arabic literature and hadīth science.
