Abstract:

Justice, which corresponds to meanings such as right, compliance with the law, and observance of the right, is a variable and difficult concept to define. Justice, which is identified with nature in antiquity, religion in the Middle Ages, and reason in the modern age, is conformity to the state for Plato, while for Aristotle it is a completed virtue. When justice is lacking or lacking, individuals react to restore justice, and this reaction is described as revenge. While revenge is based on a sense of helplessness, it serves purposes such as equalization, relief, and relief from anger. In the light of this information, in this study, in which the series "Personality" is examined through the concepts of justice and revenge, it is aimed to reveal whether the series is built on the concepts of justice and revenge, and to determine how the concepts of justice and revenge in the series are established. The fact that the series has not been handled through the concepts of justice and revenge before makes the study important, while all episodes of the series are taken as samples. In this context, it has been determined that the concepts of justice and revenge are seen as one in the series, but justice and law are considered as separate concepts. Other conclusions are that the series presents justice as a phenomenon that can be achieved through revenge and that this may hurt the audience.
