Abstract:

The study aimed at uncovering a hidden document about the Moroccan pilgrimage a century ago. The study dealt with the course taken by the pilgrims and the commercial importance of Hajj. The study also pointed to the decline of the eastern voyages as a result of the French intervention in Algeria, and the sovereignty of the sea route between 1845 and 1855, in addition to the competition between the French and English ship owners to transport the pilgrims. The study also discussed the decrease in transit prices due to the abundance of ships and the return of the French and English reconnaissance forces from the Crimea. The study showed the publicity leaflet for the Moroccan pilgrims. Moreover, the study pointed out that the navigation company summoned one of its Moroccan employees to write an information bulletin addressed to the people of his country, and that the editor is familiar at the dictionary terms of navigation and did not hesitate to borrow from the Spanish language badly, where the words were included in Arabic certainly. The study indicated that this editor was a little learning and this is what was explained in the information bulletin except for the preliminary versions and some rare words. The precious words were deliberately excluded from the information bulletin because they are simply ignored and unclear, and the basic rules of morphology in Arabic writing neglected the basic rules of Morphology synthesis of the sentences in the Arabic writing.
