 انطلقت هذه الدراسة من فرضية مفادها أن الإيقاع الصوتي-وما ينتج من موسيقى شعرية-يهيمن على بنية القصيدة العربية بالإيجاب، أو بالسلب، كما أن نشاطه المفرط على المستوى الثاني (السلبي) يسهم في تأسيس إشكاليات من ضمنها استهلاك جل طاقة الشاعر، والإسهام في صرفه عن إنضاج بعض مستويات القصيدة الأخرى، التي من بينها: المتخيل، والرؤيا، لمجرد التمثيل. أخضعت الدراسة -للبرهنة على مصداقية فرضيتها-ثلاث ممارسات شعرية عربية: الأولى: معلقة امرئ القيس؛ لتمثيل المرحلة المبكرة من تاريخ الشعر العربي. الثانية: نماذج من تجربة أبي العلاء المعري؛ لتمثيل المرحلة المتوسطة. الثالثة: نماذج من شعر محمود درويش؛ لتمثيل المرحلة الحديثة. وقد أفصحت جميع المتون المختارة -متباعدة الأزمنة -عن غزارة بنيتها الصوتية، وبالمقابل تراجع بنيتها التخيلية، والرؤيوية، مؤكدة استفحال هذي الإشكالية، وتسلطها على صيرورة الشعر العربي. وأخيرا، اختتم البحث مساره بالتماس بعض الإجراءات التي من شأمها الحد من إشكالات تعاطي الشاعر مع عنصر الإيقاع من ناحية، وتطوير تعامله مع بعض العناصر الأخرى -التي يعوزها خطابه الشعري-من ناحية ثانية. نذكر من هذه الإجراءات الملتمسة باختزال شديد: (١) عدم تعسف الشاعر في الاشتغال على عنصر الإيقاع؛ لإنتاج طاقة صوتية كبرى-كما فعل أبو العلاء المعري في بعض ممارساته -لأن ذلك كفيل باستهلاك جل طاقته الشعرية، وصرفه عن إنضاج مستويات القصيدة الأخرى. (٢) احتراز الشاعر من المبالغة في إقصاء عنصر الإيقاع، ردا على هيمنته، كما فعل أدونيس؛ لأن في ذلك تعطيل الخطاب الشعري العربي من أبرز خصوصياته، المحددة لهويته الجمالية. (٣) ضرورة رفع الشاعر العربي لمستوى وعيه الفكري الفلسفي، بالإضافة إلى تكوينه الشعري؛ لكي تتفاعل شاعريته -بما يكفي-مع العناصر الأخرى في قصيدته، وعلي وجه التعيين الرؤيا الشعرية.
                  This study is based on the assumption that tone of voice with its consequent poetic music has taken control of the structure of the Arabic poem positively or negatively. Too much of the negative influence has contributed to the problematics of Arabic poetry such as consuming the Poet's energy and averting the maturation of other aspects of poetry including imagination, discernment and reification. To verify the hypothesis underlying this research, three classical Arabic poems were investigated. First, the ode by Imri' Alqais was taken for analysis as representative of the early history of Arabic poetry. econd, examples of the poetic experience of Abu Al-Alaa Al-Ma'ari were also taken to analysis as representative of the middle history of Arabic poetry. Third, examples from the poetry of Mahmoud Darweesh were also considered to represent modern Arabic poetry. The excerpts at issue were selected to represent different times of the history of Arabic poetry, revealing the richness of its phonic variety, but still with a lack of visionary imagination. The excerpts ascertain a persistent problem in the development of Arabic poetry. Finally, the paper concludes with procedural recommendations to restrain the problems of tonality and rhythm in Arabic poetry, recommending the enhancement of other elements in poetic discourse other than its phonics, tersely amongst which are the following:(1) Poets should not spend too much of their poetic energy on rhythm and tone in their poems as this will badly affect the maturity of poetry as is the case in the poetry of Abu Al Alaa' Al=Ma'ari. (2) Poets should not ignore tone and rhythm, but should cautiously strike a balance between them in a manner that lessens the hegemony of rhythm as is the case of Adonis; this is because too much avoiding rhythm and tone will strip Arabic poetry of an important feature of its beautiful identity. (3) Arabic poets should hold their intellectual and philosophical awareness into high esteem as well as consider their poetic maturity in order to let their poeticality adequately interact with other poetic elements, especially poetic visionary imagination.
