The study is part of a master's thesis. Throughout the study, narratives about how the state saw social workers were discussed. Social workers interviewed shared narratives that the state saw themselves as a mediator, passive policy enforcer and opponent. However, social workers are equipped to direct the policies to be implemented due to their professional formations. In addition to claiming that they should be active in politics, it is an important result of this study that they have aims to increase social welfare. In this context, this study, they exposed the social workers in Turkey by introducing the rat race argues that the social welfare policies need to be revised.
