Abstract:

One of the most influential names among the companions of the Prophet’s (p.b.u.h.) is undoubtedly Abu Bakr. In addition to being one of the first to believe in the Prophet, he comes to the forefront in basic historical and sirah (prophetic biography) sources with his attributes such as his devotion to Him, his sacrifice in the way of Islam and his generosity. At the same time, he is the closest companion to the Prophet in terms of friendship and affinity according to Ahl al-Sunnah. On the other hand, it cannot be said that Shiite-Imamate scholars have the same opinion about Abu Bakr. The negative approach of Shi'a on this issue is clearly seen in the sources. Of course, there are many reasons for this. However, the main reason here is that he is seen as the party of the imamate disputes against Ali and therefore the desire to create a competition ground between Ali and Abu Bakr.

The main issue we will deal with in this study is how Abu Bakr, who was the companion to the Prophet during his migration from Mecca to Medina and who was also described as his “cave companion”, was evaluated in the Shiite sources in the context of this event. In our study, it is aimed to clarify the subject by comparing the aforementioned approaches especially with the basic sirah and Islamic historical sources and to reveal whether the approach of the Shia authors to the issue is correct or not.

Hz. Peygamber’in ashâbı arasında en etkili isimlerden biri hiç şüphesiz Hz. Ebû Bekir’dir. O, Hz. Peygamber’e ilk iman edenlerden biri olmasının yanında O’na bağlılığı, İslâm yolundaki fedakârlığı ve cömertlik gibi hasletleriyle temel tarih ve siyer kaynaklarında ön plana çıkmaktadır. Aynı zamanda o, Ehl-i Sünnet’e göre Hz.

Ebû Bekir’in, bu olay bağlamında Şiî kaynaklar nezdinde nasıl değerlendirildiğidir. Çalışmamızda söz konusu yaklaşımlar özellikle temel siyer ve İslâm tarihi kaynaklarıyla mukayese edilerek konunun vuzuha kavuşması ve Şiî müelliflerin meseleye yaklaşımlarının doğru olup olmadığının ortaya konulması amaçlanmaktadır.
