Abstract:

The aim of the research is to deeply examine the relationships between the personality traits and psychological capital levels of employees employed in the tourism sector and silent resignation. In this direction, it was aimed to determine the effects of the big five personality traits and psychological capital dimensions on the emotional and mental commitment of employees and to reveal the relationships of these variables with silent resignation dimensions. The universe of the research is tourism employees, and the sample was determined as 5-star hotel employees in the BodrumYalıkavak region. The quantitative method was adopted in the research, and data were collected through an online survey. In this context, survey data were collected between 29.08.2024 and 01.10.2024, and correlation analysis was conducted in the SPSS 26 program. As a result of the research, although there was a positive relationship between the personality sub-dimensions and silent resignation sub-dimensions, it was seen that these relationships were generally weak and limited. It was observed that personality traits such as extraversion and agreeableness in particular showed a low level of relationship with silent resignation sub-dimensions. In addition, a negative relationship was observed between psychological capital sub-dimensions and silent resignation.
