Abstract:

The topic of the research deals with the political methods of the caliphs and governors of the Umayyad state in eliminating revolutions and hostile movements in the Islamic East from (41-132 AH / 662-750 AD). The danger of the multiple revolutions that the Umayyad dynasty was exposed to and almost eliminated. The study dealt with the beginning of the method of intimidation and encouragement as one of the powerful methods that had a return in reducing the danger of those revolutions that the Umayyad state was subjected to during the period of its rule. Such as the policy of “al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah,” the governor of Kufa, in using the method of intimidation to confront the revolutions of the Kharijites, and the policy of the Umayyad caliph “Abd al-Malik bin Marwan” in using the method of encouragement to get rid of “Musab bin al-Zubayr” and eliminate the Zubayr party, or through the use of the Umayyad governor. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Qasry, “The method of enticement in confronting Bahloul’s external revolution, and the study also sheds light on the method and trick of cunning and cunning as one of the political tricks that the caliphs and rulers of the Umayyad state resorted to by resorting to striking two forces that threaten the state with each other with the aim of weakening them, so it is easy for the state Eliminate them or even eliminate one of them on the other, as did the Caliph “Abdul-Malik bin Marwan”, who used the policy of cunning and cunning to get rid of the “Mukhtar al-Thaqafi” revolution, which was threatening the Umayyad state, by striking him with force, “Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr”, the other opponent of the Umayyads At that time, or through the jurists and religious scholars’ rejection of the revolutions that pit public opinion against the opponent, which affects the support and support of the people around them and thus reduce their danger, as happened with the revolution of “Yazid ibn al-Muhallab” and the response of the faqihs “Hassan al-Basri” and “Nadr ibn Anas” For him, then the study also dealt with the method of negotiation or negotiations with the opponent, i.e. resolving disputes and conflicts between the two parties through resorting to dialogue or exchanging suggestions and solutions in order to reach an agreement that resolves the controversy between the parties, and achieves common interests between them, just as the Caliph “Abd al-Malik bin Marwan” resorted to using The policy of negotiating with "Abd al-Rahman bin al-Ash'ath" to end his movement against the Umayyad state, and this was followed by talking about the use of the method of reform and cultural resistance with the aim of improving conditions and limiting revolts against the state, such as the use of that policy by the Caliph "Umar bin Abdul Aziz" with the kings of Sindh and the people in the province of Khorasan Kufa, and the policy of the Umayyad governor “Ashras bin Abdullah Al-Salmi” in using the reform policy in Khorasan and Transoxiana, and the study concluded by addressing the method of psychological warfare, that is, the actions undertaken by the opponent against the other to influence him with the aim of paralyzing his will, his thinking and his material and moral forces through hadith On the use of the Umayyad Caliph “Hisham bin Abd al-Malik” and his guardian “Youssef bin Omar” psychological warfare method to get rid of the revolution of “Zayd bin Ali”.
