Abstract:

Abstract:
This research tackles one of the socio-communicative topics still surrounded by sensitive and controversial boundaries within communication and media studies: the subject of “sexual taboo.” The researcher approaches the influx of sexual content and performances circulating digitally through digital industries and social media platforms as a kind of “digital free market,” where commodified bodies are daily showcased in an implicitly provocative and alluring manner, openly accessible and widely circulated. This free market appears to be meticulously tailored to appeal to a highly sensitive demographic—one that responds with fascination, excitement, and curiosity to animated images, fast-paced videos, and intense visual displays: namely, children, the primary focus of this study.
In addressing the complexity of this topic, the researcher adopts a hermeneutic-interpretive approach, framing the study as a form of scientific inquiry aimed at understanding a deeply complex and multi-dimensional phenomenon situated at the intersection of sexuality, digital media, and childhood.
