Abstract:

Businesses use many resources in their production activities and various wastes are generated during the production processes. Companies gain significant advantages when these wastes are managed correctly and resources are used efficiently. Considering that resources are not unlimited and are gradually decreasing, waste turns into an opportunity for businesses to cope with this problem. The purpose of this research; The aim is to investigate the relationship between waste management practices and resource efficiency of companies operating in the Tekirdağ textile industry. Data were collected by survey method face to face, by phone and e-mail. As a result of the research, it has been determined that there is a significant relationship between the enterprises ISO 14001 Certificate ownership, the ability to designproduce a product with the same function by reducing the raw materials used, the ability to make process changes to reduce the raw material, the knowledge that the material packages are not damaged during the storage of the products, and their resource efficiency. No significant relationship could be detected between the companies knowledge of the waste storagedisposal cost record, packaging of products using less packaging, use of recyclablereusable materials in product packaging, and resource efficiency. Additionally, since all of the businesses answered yes to the question regarding the protection of product and waste storage areas from external factors, Chi-square analysis could not be performed.
