 يندرج البحث في المشغل الثقافي في المقالات الأدبيّة الحديثة، ضمن مبحث أكبر وهو العلاقة بين الأدبيّ والثقافيّ، وسبل تعبير الأجناس الأدبيّة الحديثة عن المشاغل الثقافيّة. وتكمن أهميّة هذا البحث في الكشف عن مكانة الأدب بما هو آلية تواصليّة ترمي إلى إرساء مشروع ثقافيّ، وتسليط الضوء على البوادر الأولى لاعتماد المادة الإعلاميّة للتسويق للأدب من خلال نشره بين أعمدة الصحافة. 
نهدف إلى إبراز دور الأدب في نشر الثقافة الإصلاحيّة من خلال دراسته أداةً تواصليّةً بين الذات الكاتبة والجمهور المتلقي. ونسلّط الضوء على دور الصحافة المكتوبة، في الثلاثينيات، في جماهيرية الأدب واستقطاب العامّة إلى عالم الكتابة الأدبيّة، وفي تمرير المشروع الثقافيّ الإصلاحيّ لثلّة من أهمّ الأدباء المصريين. 
ونعتمد لمعالجة هذه الإشكاليّة منهج النقد الثقافيّ، الذي لا يقف عند الصبغة الجماليّة، التي تجسّد الجانب الرسميّ من الأدب، إذ يسلّط الضوء على الجوانب التي تكتسي صبغة جماهيرية، وتمثّل الهامش بالنسبة للمركز الفنيّ. لنتبيّن مكانة الصحافة في القرن العشرين التي أسهمت في جماهيريّة الأدب ونشر مشاريع الإصلاح الثقافيّ بأسلوب جماليّ.
فما هو الدور الذي لعبته المقالات الأدبيّة في مصر لنشر الثقافة الحديثة؟ ولماذا راهن الكتّاب على الصحافة المكتوبة لبلورة تصوراتهم الحديثة للثقافة. وهل تعدّ كتابة المقالات الأدبيّة في الصحف ضربًا من تبسيط الأدب حدّ الاستسهال والتسليع أم أنّها وسيلة لتسهيل عمليّة التواصل مع الجمهور المتلقي؟ 
Exploring cultural issues in modern literary articles falls within a broader research scope of literary and cultural relations and how modern literary genres express cultural concerns. The significance of this study lies in revealing the role of literature as a communicative mechanism that aims to establish a cultural project and cast light on the initial steps to customize literature in media tools. With that, we aspire to highlight literature's role in spreading reformative culture by studying it as a communicative tool between the writer and the receiving audience. More specifically, we focus on the role of 1930s written journalism in popularizing literature, attracting the public to the world of literary writing, and promoting the reformative cultural project of some leading Egyptian writers. To explore this, we adopt a cultural criticism methodology that emphasizes the populist aspects of literary works and overlooks the aesthetic aspects of literature. Our main objective is to ascertain the role of twentieth-century journalism in popularizing literature and spreading cultural reform projects aesthetically. What was the role of literary articles in Egypt in spreading modern culture? Why did these writers rely on written journalism to elucidate their modern perceptions of culture? Does writing literature articles in newspapers oversimplify literary works to be trivialized and commoditized, or does it create a means for fostering the communicative process between the writer and the receiving audience?.
