Abstract:

The Mongol forces succeeded in subduing the eastern part of the Islamic State and Iraq under their rule following the elimination of the Abbasid Caliphate and the establishment of the Mogul State known as the Elkhanian State in 656 AH / 1258 AD. Since reign of Elkhanian, Ahmed Tekodar, (681- 683 AH / 1282 -1284 AD) the Elkhanian Mongol State entered a new phase when this ruler declared his Islam. This was solidified after Chazan Ben Aragon, who was keen on attracting the largest possible number of the Mongols to Islam, took power (694- 703 AH / 1295 -1304 AD) and made Islam the official religion of the State. Therefore, the Elkhanian Mongol State became a defending force of Islam, and was keen on spreading Islam. The Elkhanian rulers had the aspiration to provide service to the country of the Two Holy Mosques as an expression of the sincerity of belonging to this religion, a desire to please their Muslim followers, and an initiative to change the brutal image of the Mongols in which they appeared during their attack on the Islamic state.
This research is limited to countries that had Moghul rulers and their followers who had obvious charitable contributions to the country of the Two Holy Mosques, including Elkhaniera, Algelaúria, and Timurid states. The research will also include research efforts of Almazvria state and its followers because its rulers had been under the rule of the Elkhanian Mongol State for a period of time.
It is worth mentioning that these charity works were realized in the provision of donations and gifts to the Asharaf, citizens, and neighbors of the Two Holy Mosques in addition to the establishment of a considerable number of charitable reform projects in Mecca and Medina and the holy sites and the leading roads.
