Abstract:

Tahar Djaout’s novel «The Expropriated» (L’exproprié)- (1981)- implicates jumbled texts which share the idea of maze from reality of looting with its various manifestations. The narrator’s monologue is supported by scenes and images which conjoin stories and documents of historical memories as wells reflections that create an estrangement in the context. This approach makes the tracking of any character or event impossible. Otherwise, Jumble and rave are alternative to building and system, and it also arises a gender alienation resulting from the overlap of novel, poetry, translated historical texts, quotes from celebrities, overlapping of linens and footnotes as well as special writing. The work implies fragmentations and hybridity heard and mind which differs from his both predecessors and contemporaries Algerian and Maghreb writers. We wondered amid the jumbled case of the writing dealt with and characterized by and about Tahar Djaout’s position and his former fiction in post-modernist writing?.
