Abstract:

The study aimed to shed light on the Moroccan-African relations, and the presence of the Almoravid in the Western Sudan as a model. The study focused on the relations between Morocco and sub-Saharan African countries during the rule of the Almoravids. It also discussed the mysterious periods in the history of the Almoravids in the western Sudan, which was divided into two phases. The first phase extends from the opening of Ghana in 1076 to the death of Abi Bakr Ben Omar in 1087. The second phase is related to the presence of the Almoravids in the western Sudan after the death of Abi Bakr Ben Omar. The study found out that the information received helps to shape the main lines of the Moroccan presence in general and the Almoravids especially, in the western Sudan. It also contains important references to the efforts exerted by the Almoravids to spread Islam and the Islamic culture in the region. The study also explained the leading role played by the symbols of the Almoravid movement. The study pointed out that many aspects of the Moroccan-African relations need further research and study, so that we can shed light on the history of Islam, the Islamic culture in the sub-Saharan areas in general, and the history of the Moroccan relations in the sub-Saharan areas in particular..This abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018.
