 In this study, color parameters b, a, L, ho, C, C, L, b, a, H, and E of solvent-based acrylic resin-based matte varnish applied on purpleheart Peltogyne paniculata Benth., African oak Burkea africana Hook, and faro Daniella Klainei Pierre ex A. Chev wood species were compared. Variance analyses were found to be significant for all color parameters and wood species. Color measurements taken from varnished surfaces were compared with those taken from unvarnished surfaces. E values were calculated as 6.47 for purpleheart wood, 6.86 for African oak wood, and 14.61 for faro wood. a and C values were found negative in African oak wood, while they were obtained positively in faro and purpleheart wood species. For b values, negative results were found in purpleheart and African oak woods, while positive in faro wood. L values were calculated as negative for all wood species. The varnish used in the study was observed to have a modifying effect on the color parameters of all wood species.

 Bu çalışmada, solvent bazlı akrilik reçine esaslı mat vernik uygulanmış mor kalp Peltogyne paniculata Benth., burkea Burkea africana Hook ve faro Daniella Klainei Pierre ex A. Chev ahşap türlerinde renk parametreleri b, a, L, ho, C, C, L, b, a, H ve E karşılaştırılmıştır. Varyans analizleri bütün renk parametreleri ve ahşap türleri için anlamlı olarak bulunmuştur. Uygulama sonrasında verniklenmiş yüzeylerden alınan renk ölçümleri ile verniklenmemiş yüzeylerden alınan renk ölçümleri birbirleri ile kıyaslanmıştır. E değerleri mor kalp odununda 6.47, burkea odununda 6.86 ve faro odununda ise 14.61 olarak hesaplanmıştır. a ve C değerleri burkea ahşabında negatif olarak bulunurken, faro ve mor kalp ahşap türlerinde ise pozitif olarak elde edilmiştir. b değerinde ise mor kalp ve burkea odunlarında negatif olarak bulunurken, faro odununda pozitif olarak tespit edilmiştir. L değerleri ise bütün ahşap türlerinde negatif sonuç olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan verniğin, bütün ahşap türlerine ait renk parametreleri üzerinde değiştirici bir etkide bulunduğu görülmüştür.
