Abstract:

The understanding of temple in Judaism is largely different from that
of other religions. Because, Solomon’s Temple, the only place where some
worships can be performed in Judaism, is fully integrated with this religion.
The fact that Solomon’s Temple is an integral part of Judaism has led to that
religion being called “a temple centered religion”.
Because Solomon’s Temple was designed exactly according to the will of God,
from the architectural point of view to the extent to which he would function
there. On the other hand, the destruction and reconstruction of Solomon’s
Temple in history has had a profound effect on the Jews. In Jewish history, the
names of "The First Temple Period” and “The Second Temple Period” are
proof of that. Especially in A.D. 70 the destruction of the Second Temple has
been a source of sadness for the Jews until that day. Solomon’s Temple, which
is so important, has naturally been the center of attention of the Jews for
centuries and has been prayed for in the period when it was ruined. Although
there is no its physical presence today, the spiritual presence of Solomon’s
Temple is still felt in Jerusalem. This Temple, one of the lifeblood of
Judaism, is almost everything for a Jew. As a matter of fact, one of the main
reasons for the conflicts between Muslims and Jews in Jerusalem today, perhaps
the most important, stems from Solomon’s Temple.

Yahudilikteki mabed
Yahudiliğin can damarlarından
