Abstract:

Periodicals are important sources that feed the literary life in terms of providing a basis for literary and intellectual movements. Periodicals stand out as the publications in which poets and writers step into the literature and press life, as well as being the scene of discussions that develop within this framework among literary and intellectual communities. One of the remarkable examples of this situation is seen in the life of Ahmet Muhip Dıranas, one of the important names of Turkish poetry in the Republican Period. The texts that Dıranas published in Çiçek magazine using the pseudonym “Muhip Atalay” between 1926 and 1927, while he was still a high school student, deserve attention as the poet's first writing experiences. In the studies on Dıranas, these texts have been overlooked and have not been evaluated. In this article, it will be tried to contribute to the biography of Dıranas by examining these texts comprised of four stories and two poems published by him in Çiçek magazine.
