Competition conditions in the textile and ready-to-wear sector force the production process to be very well managed by reducing costs, minimizing wastage, making performance measurements and effective planning. Work and time studies have an important place in effective production management. Various techniques are used to determine the optimal production time of the model to be produced in the garment sector. Accurate and rapid detection of the production time directly impacts plant productivity. In this study, the side seam operation was selected as an activity that could cause bottleneck in bathrobe production. The selected activity was analyzed with the chronometer and MTM (Method’s Time Measurement) methods. By comparing the data obtained by these two methods, the productivity of the plant was evaluated.

Tekstil ve hazır giyim sektöründeki rekabet koşulları, işletmeleri maliyetleri düşürmeye, fireleri azaltmaya, performans ölçümü yapmaya ve etkin bir planlama ile üretim sürecini çok iyi yönetmeye zorlamaktadır. İş ve zaman etüdü, etkili bir üretim yönetiminde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Hazır giyim sektöründe üretilecek modelin optimum üretim süresinin tespitinde çeşitli tekniklerkullanılmaktadır. Üretim süresinin doğru şekilde ve hızlı olarak tespit edilmesi doğrudan işletme verimliliğini etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada, bornoz üretiminde darboğaz oluşturabilecek bir faaliyet olarak yan birleştirme faaliyeti seçilmiştir. Seçilen faaliyetin analizi kronometre ve MTM (Metot Zamanlarının Ölçümü) ile yapılmıştır. Bu iki yöntemle elde edilen veriler karşılaştırılarak işletme açısından verimliliği değerlendirilmiştir.
