 This study investigates the common and differing aspects of the concepts of Pragmatics and Discourse within the framework of Sociolinguistics. The primary research question explores how the commonalities and differences between Pragmatics and Discourse can be addressed from a sociolinguistic perspective. To this end, various methodologies and approaches were applied throughout the study. The research was structured into four distinct stages. In the first stage, the concepts of Pragmatics, Discourse, and Sociolinguistics were defined from multiple perspectives, drawing on sources from different linguists. These definitions primarily engage with the concepts of Pragmatics, Discourse, and Sociolinguistics as they are considered within the broader field of linguistics. The second stage presents an exploration of Discourse Analysis and the Interpretive Approach, with both concepts analyzed from a linguistic perspective. The third stage emphasizes the common and divergent aspects of Pragmatics and Discourse within the sociolinguistic context. This study employed the Discourse Analysis method. Subsequently, a comparison between the Qualitative Research method and the Discourse Analysis method was conducted, focusing on their shared attributes. Additionally, the study was elucidated through the application of an interpretive approach.

 Bu çalışmada, edim bilim ve söylem kavramlarının toplum dilbilimsel çerçevede ortak ve farklı yönleri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın temel sorusu, edim bilim ve söylem kavramları arasındaki benzerlikler ve farklılıkların toplum dilbilimsel bakış açısından nasıl ortaya konabileceğidir. Bu amaçla, çalışmada çeşitli yöntemler ve yaklaşımlar kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırma dört farklı adımda yapılandırılmıştır. İlk adımda, söylem, edim bilim ve toplum dilbilim kavramları farklı yönleriyle tanıtılmıştır. İkinci aşamada, söylem analizi ve hermeneutik yaklaşım hakkında bilgiler sunulmuştur. Üçüncü aşamada ise, edim bilim ve söylem kavramlarının toplum dilbilimsel bağlamda ortak ve farklı yönleri vurgulanmıştır. Çalışmada, söylem analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Dört aşamadan oluşan araştırmanın ilk aşamasında edim bilim, söylem ve toplumdilbilim kavramları çeşitli yönleriyle ele alınmıştır. Ele alınan bu görüşler çeşitli dilbilimciler tarafından sağlanan kaynaklardan gelmektedir. Ortaya konan söylem, edimbilim ve toplumdilbilim kavramlarına dilbilim bağlamında yer verilmiştir. İkinci aşamada, söylem analizi ve hermeneutik yaklaşım hakkında bilgiler sunularak bu iki kavram da dilbilim bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü aşamada, edim bilim ve söylem terimlerinin toplumdilbilim bağlamındaki ortak ve farklı yönleri vurgulanmıştır. Çalışmada, söylem çözümleme yöntemi ele alınarak nitel analiz ve söylem çözümleme yöntemi arasındaki benzerlikler tanımlanmaktaBu tanımlamakta, her iki yöntem arasındaki ortak yönler incelenmektedir. Çalışma da ayrıca hermeneutik yaklaşım da ele alınmaktadır.
