Bu məqalədə Heydər Əliyevin siyasi kursunun əsas prioritetləri araşdırılır. Heydər Əliyevin 1993-cü ildə hakimiyyətə qayıdışından sonra Azərbaycan Respublikasında həyata keçirilən ilk tədbirlərdən başlayaraq, onun ölkənin inkişafı üçün müəyyən etdiyi strateji hədəflərə geniş yer ayrılmışdır. Məqalədə, neft amili və enerji resurslarının Azərbaycanın iqtisadi potensialını artırmaq üçün strateji bir vasitə kimi necə istifadə edildiyi təhlil edilir. Eyni zamanda, Heydər Əliyevin multikultural dəyərlərin təşviqinə və ictimai birliyin təmin edilməsinə yönələn siyasəti ilə aqrar sektorda həyata keçirdiyi islahatların ölkənin davamlı inkişafına töhfələri incələnir. Bu istiqamətdəki siyasətlər, ölkənin iqtisadi sabitliyini gücləndirməklə yanaşı, milli maraqların qorunması və mədəni müxtəlifliyin təmin edilməsi məqsədini daşıyır. Məqalə, Heydər Əliyevin siyasi kursunun müxtəlif sahələrdəki təsirlərini hərtərəfli şəkildə dəyərləndirərək, Azərbaycanın sosial-iqtisadi və mədəni inkişafını təmin edən mühüm amilləri önə çıxarır.
