In this study, the resistance of composites obtained from some agricultural wastes was investigated against brown rot fungus (Fomitopsis palustris). For this purpose, previously produced from a cotton stalk, corn stalk, hazelnut husk and hazelnut shell-based chipboards in the laboratory environment were used. As a control sample, commercial particle board and Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) wood sample were used. According to the findings obtained, significant differences were found between the weight losses of the composites exposed to fungal destruction. The highest weight loss was found in composite produced by 0, 60 g/cm3 density, 6 minutes press time applied, 12 % glue for outer layer, 10 % glue for middle layer and 100% corn stalk. The lowest weight loss was seen in the composite produced with 50% - 100% hazelnut shell and 100% hazelnut husk. Significant differences were found between weight loss values of these composite and weight loss of control samples. When it is considered that hazelnut shell and hazelnuts husk are found abundantly in the Black Sea region in our country, this study shows that these wastes can be used as chipboards where brown rot fungi is a risk.

Bu çalışmada bazı tarımsal
atıklardan elde edilen kompozitlerin esmer çürüklük mantarına (Fomitopsis palustris) karşı
dayanıklılığı araştırılmıştır. Bunun için daha önce laboratuvar ortamında
üretilen pamuk sapı esaslı, mısır sapı esaslı, fındık zürufu esaslı ve
fındıkkabuğu esaslı yonga levhalar kullanılmıştır. Kontrol örneği olarak da
ticari yonga levha ile sarıçam (Pinus sylvestris) odun örneği
kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre mantar tahribatına maruz kalan
levhaların ağırlık kayıpları arasında anlamlı farklılıklar görülmüştür. En
yüksek ağırlık kaybı 0,60 g/cm3 yoğunlukta 6 dakika pres süresi
uygulanan ve dış tabakada %12 orta tabakada %10 tutkal kullanılmış % 100 mısır
sapı ile üretilen levhalarda meydana gelmiştir. En düşük ağırlık kaybı ise
fındıkkabuğunun %50 ile %100 oranlarında ve %100 fındık zürufu ile üretilen
levhalarda görülmüştür. Bu levhaların ağırlık kayıp değerleri ile kontrol
örneklerinin ağırlık kayıpları ile aralarında anlamlı fark çıkmıştır. Ülkemizde özellikle Karadeniz bölgesinde
fındıkkabuğu ve fındık zürufunun bolca bulunduğu dikkate alındığında, bu
atıkların esmer çürüklük mantarının risk olduğu yerlerde yonga levha olarak
değerlendirilerek kullanılabileceği bu çalışma ile ortaya çıkmıştır.
