Abstract:

The institution of prophethood is one of the three most important faith fundamentals of the religion of Islam. Throughout history, there have been many objections to this authority. While some of these objections are directed towards rejecting prophethood, some of them targeted the prophethood of the Hz. Muhammed. Apart from these, Although they accepted the prophethood of the Hz Muhammed, there were some schools and individuals who objected to his being the last prophet. Jews, Magi, Christians, Gulât-Galiyye from Shia are the leading ones. On the other hand, Barâhime of Indian origin, who rejected prophethood in general, rejected the understanding of "Khatmu’n-Nubuvva". Here, it is useful to mention some Sufis who do not completely reject " Khatmu’n-Nubuvva ", but open the door to this and imply that prophethood continues through custody. In addition, it is mentioned in the sources that the Bâbîlik and Bâhâîlik, which are known to be of Shia origin, and the Kâdıyanîlık, which also existed in the Indian geography, rejected this understanding. Islamic scholars dealt with this issue carefully and responded appropriately to these objections. Kadi Abd al-Jabbar from Mu'tazila is also one of these theologians. He eliminated the objections of opponents by mentioning this subject in his works such as "al-Mughni", Sharhu'l-usûli'l-hamse "and" al-Muhtasar ". In this study, first of all, the concept of " Khatmu’n-Nubuvva " was explained and objections to this understanding were put forward. Later, Mu‘tezile's handling of the subject and his defense were examined. Not to accept the " Khatmu’n-Nubuvva" understanding, means to accept that a prophet can come after the Prophethood of Hz. Muhammed. This causes the malicious intentions of some religious merchants and the emergence of false prophets. The aim of this study is to reveal that the Hz. Muhammed was the last prophet with a Mu’tezilian point of view, mentally and verbally.

Peygamber’in risâletini hedef almıştır. Bunların dışında Hz. Peygamber’in nübüvvetini kabul etmekle birlikte, onun son peygamber olduğuna itiraz getiren birtakım ekol ve şahıslar olmuştur.
