Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the agricultural sector on unemployment in Algeria from 1990 to 2019, using the (ARDL) model and the unemployment rate as a dependent variable and the agricultural sector added values, agricultural employment and the value of agricultural support as independent variables.
The study found a negative significant relationship in both the short and long terms between the unemployment rate from one side and agricultural employment and agricultural support and from the other side, while the relationship between the unemployment rate and the added value of the agricultural sector was positive and significant in both the short and long terms. The study recommended strengthening the agricultural sector and looking for new ways to support agricultural production and job creation.
