Abstract:

THE RUYET OF THE HEART IN SUFISM
                                                             Abstract
Ru'yet is a concept related to the appearance of Allah in this world and afterlife. While Sufis regard it permissible for Allah to be seen afterlife, it also means that it will be possible for Allah's names and attributes to be seen in the world through the eyes of the heart. Since the hearth is the center of science, inspiration, cognizance and wisdom, according to the Sufis, it is the place where the divine nouns and adjectives appear in the very most perfect way. The views on Ru’yatul hearth indicate that seeing Allah’s power to create can be achieved by knowing Him. Such means as revelation, observation, inspiration, manifestation and foresight form the means of Ru’yatul hearth. Sufis' notions of vision with these states and status are based on seeing the one who gives blessings and calamities and reaching the divine truths. From the point of view of the Sufis, the aspects that hinder the view of the heart are such things as shame, everything but Allah, and satanic desire. If one frees oneself from the veils which cover one’s hearth, one can reach the real and angelic universe. The study focuses on how the names and attributes of the divine essence of the heart are viewed by Sufis.
Key Concepts: Ru’yet, Sufism, Hearth of Ru’yet, Means, Obstacles.
