Abstract:

Münşeât Magazines are the works in which the most beautiful examples of artistic prose are seen and the ways of writing it are taught. In these works, there are many examples of official and personal correspondence, as well as historical, religious, literary texts and verses and many other useful information. Münşeat journals are an important source work for history studies as well as in the field of literary history and linguistics. Münşeat Magazines, which collect political and administrative letters, contain mostly historical source material and provide first-hand documents for researchers. The historical value of Münşeat magazines is directly proportional to the originality of the letters in the magazine. Some letters in Münşeat magazines may not be real but may have been adapted by the publisher. For this reason, it is extremely important to compare these letters with archive documents in determining the accuracy of the letters in the munseat.
In this article, it will be compared with the archive documents of the Münşeat magazine, known as Rami Mehmed Pasha Münşeat, registered in National Biblothek AF 159. The work is composed of letters belonging to the state administration, written by Rami Mehmed Pasha, Nişancı Ahmed Pasha and Moralı Damad Hasan Pasha, who served as grand vizier between January 24, 1703 and July 11, 1704. The letters in the journal were compared with the nâme-i hümayun notebooks, mühimme notebooks, the classification of İbnülemin and the Sadaret Mektubî Kalemi documents. As a result, it has been understood that the work contains real historical documents, most of which are not found in other sources. Therefore, we can say that the aforementioned journal has a first-hand historical resource value.
