Abstract:

Although it is said that the artists who write their works mainly around one or more themes have a narrow artistic universe, we should not rush to judgement. Because when all the works of the artist or their works in any genre are examined, it can be seen that similar thoughts and feelings are conveyed with a very rich power of imagination and association. Just like in the poems of Ahmet Hâşim, who is one of the founding poets of Turkish poetry. Hâşims poetic world, which may seem narrow at first glance, expands with music and colorful descriptions. The narrowness of Hâşims poetic universe is directly related to the fact that he closed the doors of his poetry to social issues. He expressed his individual emotions and excitement in line with the principles of lyric poetry, and constructed all his poems around a single theme or a central force. Due to this characteristic, his poems can be interpreted in light of the theme analysis methods named mono-thématique single theme by Jean-Paul Weber and étymon spiritual fundamental force by Leo Spitzer. These methods articulate that a writerpoet predominantly revolves around one or a few themes in their works. The concept of mythe personnel personal myth mentioned by Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar is also based on the assumption that poets revolve around one or a few themes. It can be said that what matters in both approaches is the ability of each theme to manifest itself in very different-looking literary works. The study is based on determining the main theme on which Ahmet Hâşim built his poems and which side themes move around this. Based on this, it has been determined that the theme of escape from reality to memories and dreams is at the center of the poets poems, and around this there are emotions that evoke hopelessness. It has been observed that the emotional texture of each poem examined often complements each other and revolves around the central theme. Although it is not possible to separate these dominant emotions from each other, in this study they are evaluated under several subheadings in order to reflect the inner world of the poet. Keywords: Ahmet Hâşim, imagination, reality, memory, escape, love, loneliness.
