Technology is an important tool leaving deep scars on human life. Information technology is an important component of the technology in the history of humanity continues to effect the transformation of human values as never before in the past. The effects of transformation at every stage of the process for the supply and demand information also can be observed. In this study the causes and consequences of changes observed in the human behavior profile and access to information are examined. At the same time in this study estimates about changes that may occur in the information services are discussed. Finally it is determined how those changes are reflected in the information profession generally.

 

Teknoloji insan yaşamı üzerinde derin izler bırakan önemli beşeri araçlardan biridir. Teknolojinin önemli bir bileşeni olan bilişim, tarihte hiç olmadığı kadar insanlık değerlerinde dönüşüme neden olmaya devam etmektedir. Dönüşümün etkileri aynı zamanda bilgi arzı ve talebine yönelik iş süreçlerinin her aşamasında gözlemlenebilmektedir. Söz konusu çalışmada günümüz insanının bilgi erişim tercihi ve davranışında gözlemlenen değişimin neden ve sonuçları irdelenmektedir. Aynı zamanda bilgi isteminin gelecekte alacağı şekle paralel olarak bilgi hizmetlerinde yaşanabilecek değişim öngörülerine yer verilmektedir. Sonuç olarak söz konusu değişimin bilgi profesyonelliğine genel olarak nasıl yansıyacağı saptanmaya çalışılmaktadır.
