Abstract:

This glass weight was found at the site of al-Mabiyat (Qarah). Al-Mabiyat is one of the most important settlements in the north-west of the Arabian Peninsula during the fifth century AH. This glass weight is an addition to the glass weight known from the era of the Fatimi al-Mustansir b-Aallah, dated in 428 AH. The discovery of this glass weight is an evidence of the Fatimid control and domination in al- Mabiyat, which was one of the most important stations pilgrimage route (ASami-al-Masry). This study has demonstrated that the Fatimid glass weight had enjoyed a high degree of accuracy and commitment weight of the forensic accounting.
