Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the research is to examine the effect of postpartum adaptation training given via video methods on mothers postpartum depression and problems. Material and Method: The research is a randomized controlled experimental type with a pre-test and post-test model. The sample of the research consisted of 80 mothers between May 2023 and February 2024. The population of study consisted of women who gave birth in hospital, and the sample consisted of 80 mothers training group n 40 and control group n 40. Data were collected with the Personal Information Form and Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale EPDS. Results: It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the EPDS pre- and posttest mean scores of the mothers in the education group participating in the study 9.31 4.87 and 5.53 2.85, respectively, the EPDS score averages of the mothers in the education group after the training decreased significantly p0.05. It was found that mothers in the training group had fewer postpartum problems than those in control group. Conclusion: It was concluded that the postpartum adaptation training given to mothers via video during the postpartum period had a positive effect on the mothers depression and problems.
