Abstract:

The study aims to identify the nature of the problem of sexual violence directed at women, its forms and characteristics of its victims, and the consequences thereof. The study defined the concept of sexual violence specific to some of its dimensions, such as fornication, indecent assault, sexual harassment, incest. The study relied on a combination between a quantitative and a qualitative approach. It used an in-depth interview guide and a content analysis form to collect data on a sample of female victims who repeatedly visited the Center for Women's Issues, El Nadim Center, and the Cairo Center for Human Rights. In addition to applying to a sample of workers who actually deal with cases of incestuous sexual violence, the study reached some results, the most important of which are: Most of the victims who faced sexual violence are young, and most of them are illiterate, or people with low literacy skill, or school dropouts, most and the perpetrators are the unemployed, those who are under the age of work, those who are on a pension, or those who work in craft professions.
