Abstract:

This
article is about the relationship of remote sensing technology and its global
information systems with archeology. Aerial photo is one of the main discourse
of remote sensing technology. Today, remote sensors are cameras, planes, tavs,
satellites. There are multiple benefits of remote sensing technology, it ranges
from management of land's resources to management of traffic.

Remote
Sensor System, is basically, measuring electromagnetic energy reflected from
the objects. Cameras, shortwave radio, spectroradiometers, and human eye are
examples to this systems. Light, heat and radio waves are forms of
electromagnetic energy. This system helps us get an image of the earth with the
reflections of these waves. It is also used to discover archeological areas.
The use of this technic increases everyday around the world. This article also
aims to inform on synthetic aperture radar, termal infra-red, multi spectral
system and remote sensing air photography This article aims to prove that these
technologies can be used to discover new archeological areas like Hattusa,
Erythrai, Keykenes, Sagalassos using international and Turkish resources.

Remote
Sensing Technology grows using a variety of different branches professions
(archeology, geography, geology and computer sciences) . Remote sensing
technology is a great source to use for the undiscovered archeological works in
Turkey.
