According to the Census which took place in 1927, 24.2 % of Turkey\'s population lived in the urban areas, the other 75.8 % lived in the rural areas. Şeker fabrikalarının kuruluşu gerçek anlamda tarım reformu sayılabilecek tarımda makine ve sunî gübre kullanımının yaygınlaşmasına yol açAccording to the Census which took place in 1927, 24.2 % of Turkey\'s population lived in the urban areas, the other 75.8 % lived in the rural areas.
